As you all know both Zoom Meeting and Google Meet both are very popular for hosting and attending webinars, classes, meetings, etc. But when it comes to which one is better for you most of the people get confused. After reading this blog you will definitely be able to find which best suits you.

In this blog, you will get to know all the differences between the features in both which we get free. We will not talk about the paid features.

Zoom Meeting vs Google Meet: Meeting Time & Participants limit

Participants limit is the same in both of them i.e. 100 participants per meeting. But the meeting time of Google Meet is 60 minutes whereas Zoom Meeting only gives a time of 40 minutes which I think is not enough for webinars. However, Zoom's meeting time can be extended by purchasing a premium plan but it is so expensive that I think that it is not worth purchasing it.

Zoom Meeting vs Google Meet: Availability

If you don't have much space on your PC then in case of storage Google meet is made for you because it can be used through any browser like Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc. As some of the people like to attend their webinars using a mobile phone so both of the apps are also available on iOS and Android. Zoom is also available for Windows and macOS users whereas Google Meet is not accessible in Windows or macOS.

Zoom Meeting vs Google Meet: Screen sharing

Both Google Meet and Zoom provide the feature to share your screen with attendees of your virtual meeting. You can also enable real-time captions to understand what other participants say during the webinar.

Zoom Meeting vs Google Meet: Recording the webinar

Recordings of webinars can provide us with great help to remember a point we missed during the online session. Zoom provides us with a feature to record meetings in MP4 (video) and M4A (audio) which gets saved automatically in the Zoom app and on our device. While Google Meet doesn't allow free users to record the webinars. However, if you're a paid G Suite Enterprise or G Suite Enterprise for Education editions, you can record meetings seamlessly.

Zoom Meeting vs Google Meet: Security

Security is one of the key aspects that make Google Meet significantly different from Zoom. The latter has also lately been in the limelight for security concerns and even recently released Zoom 5.0 to address some of them. To give some perspective, Google Meet supports multiple 2-step verification options for user accounts and adheres to IETF security standards for Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP). Meet also generates a unique encryption key that only exists as long as the meeting runs and is transmitted in an encrypted and secured RPC (remote procedure call) when the meeting is set up. In contrast, Zoom uses the AES 256-bit GCM encryption standard that is touted to be enabled across all accounts by May 30. We've, however, still seen issues such as Zoombomings surfacing on the Web.
